Web 2.0

Web 2.0
(Watch out, this blog may seem similar to a post I wrote in December, but this is an assignment for school.)

I didn't know what Web 2.0 meant until today... You can watch the video that I link to at the end of this post to learn more about it. Web 2.0 is the name of the Internet since 2004 the Internet that allows users to share, create, interact, publish, etc. It encompasses sites like MySpace and Facebook, YouTube and Wikipedia. These sites are based on giving users the ability to customize a page or to add their input to the media world. Basically, Web 2.0 has changed how everyone thinks of the Internet and media.

How do I think Web 2.0 affects our society today? Good question.

I think that Web 2.0 brings humanity to the forefront. People are allowed to emote, express, create, shout, or anything else and no one can stop them. Web 2.0 has created tons of art through different mediums- like books, movies, and television shows based off something that was published on Web 2.0. Do you know who Justin Bieber is? Yeah I wish I didn't, either. Anyway, he became famous because of YouTube! Now he has a record deal, professionally-produced albums, and millions of salivating young women following him. I  love Web 2.0 because of that. You no longer have to be well-connected or rich to get your big break. All you need to do is start posting videos or writing a blog and hope that someone sees it. Although, the point should not be to get famous. << Check that link for a video from charlieissocoollike. Anyway, thanks for reading. Here's the Web 2.0 Video Link.

I'll post another update soon. I promise!
